The Monastery
Beyond the north gate, where the town gives way to gardens and then to woodland, the Monastery keeps its ancient rhythms. The bell rings for Matins before dawn. The brothers and sisters tend their bees, their orchard, and their scriptorium with equal care.
The monastery has long offered hospitality to weary travellers. The guesthouse has simple rooms and a simple table, and those who stay there often find themselves rested in ways that go beyond the merely physical.
The Daily Office
The community prays seven times a day, following a rhythm established centuries ago. Visitors are welcome to join any of the offices. The singing, unaccompanied and unhurried, is something that tends to stay with people long after they have returned to ordinary life.
