The Shops
The south arcade of the Square is given over to the shops: a long covered colonnade where merchants of every kind have traded for generations. The smell of fresh bread from the baker mingles with beeswax from the chandler's, and the sound of the coppersmith's hammer is a steady percussion beneath it all.
You will find here things you did not know you needed, crafted by hands that have spent a lifetime at their trade. The apothecary knows every herb in the valley. The bookseller's stock reaches from floor to ceiling and spills into the street.
Market Days
On Wednesdays and Saturdays the arcade expands into the Square itself. Farmers come in from the surrounding countryside with produce, livestock, and gossip. It is the busiest and most cheerful time of the week, and nobody should miss it.
